I am so happy to have found your wonderful web page and to learn of your using your talent for our Lord and Savior. I do hope you will read this and respond. First let me tell you that I am a Baptist Minister and I certainly do not want to intrude into your private life.
Having said that I also need to tell you that I am a genealogist and have been doing family research for over 50 years. My great grandmother was Mary Ann Hawkins and I have traced her ancestry back many generations. Our family tradition says that your Adopted father, Harold Franklin (Hawkshaw) Hawkins was a second or 3rd cousin of Mary Ann. Mary Ann was born in Ohio across the Ohio River from WVA, but many of her ancestors came from the part of Virginia which is now WVA. Marlene, if you could see it in your heart of hearts to respond, I would very much like to find out something about Hawkshaw's Ancestry. I know that his parents were Alex and Icie Hawkins, but I have never been able to find out anything else. If you choose not to respond, please send a note telling me so. Thank you so much, Rev.
